THE RESIDENCE PUNTA VILLA ****, recently built, is located in the enchanting National Park Archipelago La Maddalena, where we can find hundreds of free bays white sand surrounded by rocks, easily reachable from any point of the’ island .

Distance from the beach: 800 m/0.5 miles
Distance from the ferry 2000 m/1.2 miles
Distance from town centre: 1200 m/0.7 miles


LA MADDALENA: the largest island in the archipelago, PLACE BLESSED BY GOD.
The town of LA MADDALENA faces the sea channel in front of PALAU and is located a few miles from CORSICA. The archipelago of the La MADDALENA is the ideal place for those who love peace, blue sea, the boat trips or diving

The island La Maddalena is connected by ferry which leaves every 15 minutes from the port of Palau, and depending on the duration of the season there are also night lines running every hour. Il residence Punta Villa dista 800 metri dal mare, 1200 metri dal centro del paese e circa 2000 mt dallo sbarco dei traghetti al porto.

Just 1 km/0.6 miles from town, there are many supermarkets near the resort to go shopping if you prefer to eat at home. The resort is surrounded by unspoilt nature.

SOME LOCAL INFORMATION:
In the evening on the promenade you can visit the shops and markets, where you can buy handcrafted items.
The weekly market is on Wednesday morning (in the area called MONETA, just about 1 km/0.6 miles from the resort) where you find local food, cheese, fresh vegetables, fruits, confections and more…
We warmly suggest to try the “SEADAS” a desert made of fried dough stuffed with cheese and covered in honey, specialties like stuffed squids and calamari, ricotta ravioli and many other fish dishes


 

It is the ideal place for the nature lovers, and perfect for boat tours and walks by the sea.
You can enjoy horse riding in Caprera, hiking with marked trails or with the park guides.
Snorkelling and discovering the underwater and the programmes of the Park.

PANORAMIC RIDE: the tour around the island just takes 20 minutes by car, BREATHTAKING VIEWS.
You can enjoy a panoramic island tour with a curious train on wheels.
If you don’t have a car or scooter the bus is convenient.
It offers two routes: the first is the tour of all the beaches of LA MADDALENA, the second one goes to the GARIBALDI house in CAPRERA and returns to NIDO D’AQUILA on the western coast of LA MADDALENA.
Most of the shops display the timetables. You can purchase the tickets on board.

You can rent a mountain bike in VIA AMENDOLA, WARNING: LA MADDALENA IS FULL OF CLIMBS!! And CAPRERA has just a few meters of paved road.


 

Full of history, La Maddalena has been a destination of historical figures like, the ADMIRAL NELSON, NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, GIUSEPPE GARIBALDI, BENITO MUSSOLINI.
There are many historical sites that can be visited in the island of LA MADDALENA and in the other islands of the archipelago LA MADDALENA.

NOT TO BE MISSED: MUSEUM AND MEMORIAL

  • THE HOUSE OF GIUSEPPE GARIBALDI: “The hero of the two worlds” lived in Caprera for many years, died and still rest there now. A unique character, loved by all the inhabitants of the archipelago. The house is one of the more visited museums in Italy. Closing time: Thursdays, Tuesday and Saturday 5 PM, other days 1.30 PM. Reachable by bus.
  • GARIBALDI MEMORIAL: very interesting for kids, opened in June 2012 in presence of the PRESIDENT OF THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC, it is located in CAPRERA in a former military fortress .

MAIN FESTIVALS

  • MAY/JUNE
    PENTECOST HOLY SPIRIT – Trinity Sunday
    Religious and civil festival, with a procession to the XVIII century church of TRINITY at 3 km/1.8 miles from town.
  • JULY 22ND
    SANTA MARIA MADDALENA (SAINT PATRON OF LA MADDALENA)
    The saint, whom the town was named after, is solemnly celebrated in the squares and in the streets of the town.
  • SEPTEMBER 8TH
    MARIA BAMBINA (NATIVITY OF THE VIRGIN).
